Last week we saw the new Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone unveiled in New York City and in the subsequent days that followed this massive media event it is evident that this new device is destined for great things. In the UK one retailer has commented on the unprecedented levels of attention that the new handset is receiving.
The Carphone Warehouse are one of the leading mobile phone retailers in the UK and they have heralded Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone as the most in demand handset ever. Interest for this new phone has been sky high ever since it was unveiled and in the days following its launch, 15th March to the 18th March to be exact, the Carphone Warehouse experienced their busiest ever pre registration period. To give you an idea about the demand of this new model we can compare it to the Samsung Galaxy S3 which was released in 2012. This handset has sold over 50 million units worldwide but the Carphone Warehouse state interest levels for the new phone are four times higher than they were prior to the release of the S3.
It looks as though the success of the new Samsung Galaxy S4 could eventually top what the S3 has achieved. Speaking about the introduction of the new device Graham Stapleton, Chief Operating Officer at the Carphone Warehouse stated “The Galaxy S3 launch broke records last year and was always going to be a tough one to beat, but the S4 is already proving to be a more than capable step up in the series that will inspire many people to make the switch to Android from other operating systems. This device is the one to watch for 2013″. The S4 will arrive sporting some superb specification that includes the new Exynos 5 Octa chipset and a Full HD 5 inch Super AMOLED screen, the first mobile display from Samsung to offer users 1080p resolution.
The new Samsung Galaxy S4 will hit shelves in the UK on April 25th and despite this date being over one month away it is already apparent that we may be about to welcome the most popular smartphone ever released.
