Last week we saw the new Samsung Galaxy S4 unveiled at a major pres event held in New York City. Just days prior to this occasion we saw some images hit the internet which reportedly showed the design of the new phone. Despite being labelled as fake by many quarters it is now evident that the snaps were indeed of this premium new phone.
What was surprising about the build up to the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy S4 was that there were not more images of the phone circulating. Samsung did well to keep the model under wraps but just three days before the launch event snaps were posted on a Chinese forum reportedly showing the new model. On these images it was easy to see a Samsung branded phone featuring a display that looked suspiciously like the 5 inch panel that was rumoured to appear on the Galaxy S4. A glossy back panel using Samsung’s Hyperglaze finish was also visible while the bezel that surrounds the screen looked much slimmer than on the Samsung Galaxy S3. Now we have seen the model in the flesh it is evident that these pictures were indeed of the new phone, a model sure to be a huge success with consumers across the globe.
Many early reports had suggested that the new Samsung Galaxy S4 would offer a totally different design to earlier generations of the handset but the Korean manufacturers have opted to once again use a similar design. The many body of the phone is built from high quality plastics, a material chosen not only for its aesthetic value but also its durability and how easy it is to manufacture. Early signs indicate that this model may well eclipse what the Samsung Galaxy S3 achieved in terms of sales. Mobile phone retailer Phones 4 U have reported that customer inquiries about this model are 40 per cent higher than for the S3, a model that has sold over 50 million units to date. The attractive design and wonderful specification which includes and eight core processor is certain to ensure that this is one of the best selling devices of 2013.
It appears that the leaked images of the Samsung Galaxy S4 that we saw prior to its launch were indeed genuine. The new model hits shelves in the UK on April 25th.
