The biggest mobile event of the year so far took place last week when Samsung officially unveiled their new flagship smartphone at a major event in New York. The Samsung Galaxy S4 is without question one of the most advanced phones ever produced and now we know exactly what this model has to offer rather than hearing the hundreds of rumours that were flying around prior to its launch.
The new Samsung Galaxy S4 is unquestionably the biggest mobile launch of the year so far but consumers in the UK still have a little wait until they can get their hands on this new model. Samsung have revealed that the device will go on sale in the UK on April 25th and all of the major network providers are likely to be offering some fantastic deals on this model. In terms of specification many of the early rumours that were circulating about this model have proved to be correct. The model comes complete with a 5 inch Super AMOLED display that boasts a pixel density of 441PPI and a Full HD resolution of 1080P. In the engine room the Exynos 5 Octa chipset is included making the handset the first mobile device to boast eight processing cores. This should ensure that the model delivers lightning fast operation speeds nad this will be helped by the 2GB of RAM that is also present.
The new Samsung Galaxy S4 may offer some superb specification but what also impresses on this device is the number of new features that are included to help users interact with the handset. We saw a number of eye tracking features introduced on last years Samsung Galaxy S3 and the manufacturers have extended this area of functionality on the new model. A new feature called Smart Pause will automatically pause video playback when the phone detects that the user is no linger looking at the screen. A number of gesture controls have also been included which enables navigation without the need to physically touch the display. One other area where big improvements are present is the camera facility. A 13 mega pixel snapper is built in to the model and this is accompanied by some great software that enable a variety of advanced tasks to be carried out such as removing objects from images and creating single photographs made up from a series of 9 rapidly shot images.
